Designer: Simonis Voogd
Place of production: Jiangsu

Introduction

The already superb sailing characteristics and performance of the regular FAREAST 18 have been extended into a compact racing version – FAREAST 18R – with a completely new deck, and deck gear layout optimized for racing.

Equipped with an open deck, the Harken gear and Selden riggings, FAREAST 18R offers excellent performance. The design of its 280 kilogram keel greatly improves its stability and safety. Reasonably designed, it breaks the limits of length of the hull to the functional performance, achieving a beautiful hull shape, easy handling, and the excellent performance of racing sailboats, making it outstanding among sailboats of similar size.

The lifting keel and the removable rigging system make for easy transport by trailer; with FAREAST 18R being easy and quick to rig, participating in regattas at different locations becomes both cost-efficient and easy to do.

Far East 23R
Target audience: beginners, sailing lovers, training, clubs, races
Designer: Simonis Voogd

Introduction
The new FAREAST 23R is the latest contribution in the FAREAST R-Line (Racing).

The FAREAST 23R has been designed to meet the need for an attractive and fast club racing boat. With the pedigree and the lines of the "bigger sister" the FAREAST 28R, the FAREAST 23R is just a bit smaller and therefore easier to tow around and launch from a ramp.

Fitted with the typical FAREAST reverse bow and wide transom, the FAREAST 23R sails easily upwind and can become furious in a good breeze downwind. Speeds in the mid teens are no exception at all.

A lot of emphasis has been put in a very efficient deck lay-out so that the boat can be sailed by any sailor. Certainly aimed as a grand-prix boat compared to the competition but by no means intimidating.

Built to the high quality we are now accustomed to from Far East Boats, the design offers a generous ballast ratio of 44%. This in combination with the high form stability but low wetted surface, makes the FAREAST 23R a stable but slippery yacht.

The demise of a backstay enables a very modern rig plan with square-top mainsail, and big foretriangle, but at the same time no difficult runner lines to be handled in a gybe.

Our designers at Simonis Voogd Design, have more than 20 years of experience with sports boats, and they know that when the going gets tough you do not want to be hindered by unnecessary rig adjustments. Just sitting back and enjoying the ride, that is what the FAREAST 23R all about!

FAREAST 28R
Secure a great deal before the 2018 price rise. With over 350 boats sold the 28R is a worldwide success. There are currently 3 28R in Limassol.

Performance:
The Fareast 28R is a proven race winner and has beaten many bigger boats over the line: Melges 32, J-111, Archambault 40, Sydney 38, Pogo 12.5, MC-31, Thompson 980 and Farr 30 are just a few to mention. The 28R is not purely designed for one design racing, she also performs very well under handicap so you don't have to wait for large fields to appear in your area to have some good fun.

Easy to sail, handle and manage:
The FAREAST 28R is easy to sail, the deep spade rudder provides very good control and the form stability of the hull is high. For racing a crew of 4-6 is ideal, however the simplicity of the 28R makes it possible to go out for a fun spin or twilight with as little as 3 and set the kite in a stiff breeze without a problem. If you like a fast but easy to manage and control boat, look no further the Fareast 28R offers it all.

ISAF approved One Design Class:
The Fareast 28R is an ISAF approved One-Design class and numbers are growing fast. We are building a new Class in Cyprus and already ordered first 3 boats to Limassol. Like to join the fun? we offer crew and charter options, contact us today, or send us enquiry for the test drive!

International Fareast Regattas
The first 28R World Cup has been sailed in Europe, a 28R and a 19R were given away as price money, which class does that?! Next Worlds (2018) will be held in China Next European in Slovenia. Other international Fareast OD racing options are the China Cup and the Fareast International regatta in Shanghai (last year they gave away 4 boats, 31R, 28R and 2x 23R)

Easy Trailable and simple lifting:
The keel lifts all the way up and the boat sits nice and low on the custom made trailer reassuring a comfortable and safe drive to those great big events. The boat is ramp launchable and the mast deck stepped. The 28R is also an ideal boat for hardstand storage, it has a single lifting point on the keel fin and the bulb takes up the boat in the hoist saving the always loved keel lifting workout (which is not too bad by the way)

Construction and hardware:
The Fareast 28R is constructed using a ISO polyester - foam core sandwich, resin is pre weight and vacuum infused. This advanced building technique guarantees a light and rigid hull. The one piece moulded inner structure "the spine" takes up all the forces from the keel and rigging. The Fareast 28R is very well equipped with the best hardware available from Harken, Spinlock and Selden for the rigging, no compromises have been made when it comes to quality.

Unbeatable price, low running cost:
The Fareast 28R offers great value for money. No more antifouling, high repair bills, another expensive sail, high mooring fees. You can save thousands a year compared to running a bigger yacht.

Multiple ownership? Low costs for the berth?
All our boats in Limassol owned by more than one owner. It not only cuts the cost in half but you straight away have 2 or more motivated crew members. We have special relations with Famagusta Nautical Club, Limassol Marina and St Rafael Marina to help to easily join our monofleet and race together in all sailing events arounf the Island.
